The My Yahoo! team has rolled out a new module for the beta My! Yahoo page. This incorporation resembles the new web messenger that was released a few months ago. The Yahoo Messenger team has cranked out an update of the new yahoo messenger 9 beta. This release fixes some bugs, I have included a list found on their blog detailing the bug fixes. Visit the Yahoo! Messenger 9 website to download the latest and greatest beta.
I might be going crazy or maybe I hadn’t noticed it before. But I was fooling around with my status message and noticed that it put smileys in place of the 
that I had entered. I had to double take since I hadn’t seen that before. Here is a screen shot from it.
Yahoo has just released a new service on their network entitled “Kickstart”. This new social network will be compared closely to Facebook, since it is aiming at the college crowd. Although I wouldn’t really say that this service is going to be like Facebook in most regards it seems to me it is a more professionally geared social networking service. This new social network feels to me more like Facebook meets linkedin. I don’t think you will be seeing to many keg stand pictures on Kickstart. If you are interested in finding old college buddies and building a professional profile, I suggest you give it a try.
Yahoo! just recently held a Hack day for Yahoo! Messenger which produced a few cool new little toys (hopefully we will get to use them.) They had a few good hacks created that day one of those hacks being an internal translation tool for IM’s. I love that idea, incorporate it into the new messenger while you are at it pleaaaaaase! Another one and I think this is a great one as well, was the Webcam hack.
