I have previously posted about allowing smileys in the new Yahoo! Messenger 9 status messages. Which in my opinion is pretty damn cool. Yahoo! has come out again with another update regarding status messages. This time they have created a new interface for inputting your status messages along with hyperlinks.

All in all I think the refresh is a good thing for the status messages. I definately am in love with the smileys you can use, you can use most of the smileys offered in Yahoo! Messenger,they are the same in terms of :) ;) so you can easily input them.
