Yahoo! CAPTCHA Cracked

January 30th, 2008 by Brandon

A group of russian hackers/crackers have released a new way to crack the captcha that Yahoo! uses in everything, chat, mail, registration. So everyone get ready to see a large surge of porn bots in the chat rooms. Yahoo! why not use the spam filter idea I talked about previously? You guys must have the resources to put it in place. Granted the captcha method did reduce the number of bots, but it certainly didn’t solve the problem like they had stated or we all hoped for.

Yahoo! Messenger Crashes On XP SP3

December 28th, 2007 by Brandon

Microsoft just released a beta of the new service pack 3 for the Windows XP OS.  There are some people are having issues running the 8.1 version of Yahoo! Messenger.

Yahoo! Messenger Error

Some reports are saying that it will freeze after only 30 minutes of use. After sending feedback to Yahoo!, a response saying that the version of Yahoo! Messenger was not installed properly, and you are advised to simply do a re-install of the product. The only problem being that the same issues will continue to happen even after a fresh install of Yahoo! Messenger. Perhaps the beta version of messenger will fair better with the new service pack.

Yahoo! has been notified, and I would expect a patch soon (within 72 hours)

Yahoo! Chat Problems

August 24th, 2007 by Brandon

Over the past year, Yahoo! has come under some serious fire for letting their chat rooms go to hell. The public chat rooms are now rampant with bots. I challenge you to enter a chat room and not find a single bot.

In hopes to combat this very serious problem Yahoo! has been working on their backend. They recently installed some patches and fixes for the join room times. These fixes for the most part wen’t well. Joining a chatroom is now quicker than ever but now you can’t really enter the room you want to enter, you get bumped to another available room in the same category.
This certainly puts a damper on your chat experience especially if you are like me and visit a single room and generally stay in that room. Yahoo! is working on a fix and is still working on more updates regarding the bot problem.
